The Boston Red Sox have had several issues with Chaim Bloom as the root cause, and he’s officially coming back for another season.

The Boston Red Sox have had several issues arise this season, and Chief Baseball Officer Chaim Bloom was often the root cause of them. Several fans have been upset with Bloom this season, and it’s confirmed that he’s coming back for another season.

According to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic (subscription required), team president and CEO Sam Kennedy stated that he was comfortable with Bloom coming back and is excited about the direction of the franchise.

Though the idea is to continue building the franchise, there seems to be a long way to go before Boston finds success again.

The Boston Red Sox will likely continue to struggle to find success

Many Red Sox fans don’t have much faith in Bloom for good reasons. Boston has struggled to find success all season and they currently sit at the bottom of the AL East standings as the only team below .500. They’ve frequented the top of the standings for the past several years and won a World Series in 2018.

Bloom also isn’t securing Xander Bogaerts, and he will likely opt out of his contract after this season. Bogaerts has been consistently reliable since joining Boston in 2013 and has won two World Series with the team.

He also didn’t sign Kyle Schwarber after the 2021 season, which was a big mistake. He may not be the best defensively, but Boston has had outfield issues all season. Schwarber would’ve been the best outfielder in the lineup this season if he was re-signed in Boston. With the Philadelphia Phillies this season, he’s hitting .214/.313/.492 for an OPS of .805.

Bloom hasn’t prioritized players showing success, and it’s holding the Red Sox back. Several fans are losing hope in Boston having success with him.

One fan responded to the news with, “We’re never winning with Chaim.”

Another is glad to see manager Alex Cora for another season, but not Bloom.

Regardless, Bloom is officially coming back for another season.
