WR. Mario Williams. Scouting Report. USC Trojans. 12. player. 808. Pick Analysis

Mario Williams is one of many who followed Lincoln Riley from OU to USC

If USC gets things turned around right away under new head coach Lincoln Riley, it will be in large part of all the guys who followed the former Oklahoma head coach to Los Angeles. While quarterback Caleb Williams gets most of the recognition of following his head coach to a new school, keep an eye on wide receiver Mario Williams being a sophomore sensation this season.

Although Williams will also get to throw the ball to last year’s Biletnikoff winner in former Pitt star Jordan Addison, he does have a rapport with the other Williams during their lone year together at OU. Simply put, if USC wants to get back to being USC before it bolts for the Big 12, the Williams-to-Williams connection better be the best thing to happen to them since Matt, Reggie and Pete.

There are plenty of reasons to be bullish on USC and this particular Williams must be one of them.

Dontayvion Wicks sets out to break even more records catching balls at UVA

When you break a 30-year-old record previously held by receiving icon Herman Moore, you did something pretty special at UVA. Dontayvion Wicks broke Moore’s single-season receiving record a year ago at Virginia. With Brennan Armstrong back at quarterback, as well as Keytaon Thompson still part of the Cavaliers’ receiving corps, Virginia could be a sneaky-good team in the ACC Coastal.

Of course, this will be Tony Elliott’s first stab at being a college football head coach. The former Clemson offensive coordinator left his alma mater to take over for Bronco Mendenhall. His predecessor had things humming in Charlottesville, but it hasn’t always been easy winning big at UVA. Although it is overlooked by USC and Ohio State, this Hoos receiving corps is outstanding.

Toe needs to meet the leather first, but there is a ton of excitement surrounding UVA football now.
