Michigan State football opens its 2022 season on Friday, Sept. 2 against Western Michigan, but what channel is the Spartans game on now?

After finishing last season ranked inside the Top 10 of the final College Football Playoff rankings, Michigan State football is looking to pick up where they left off under head coach Mel Tucker.

The Spartans enter the 2022 season ranked No. 15 in the preseason AP Top 25 and, despite the loss of workhorse running back Kenneth Walker III, there is hope that this team can remain a factor in the Big Ten thanks to an experienced defense and an offense that has been reloaded by way of the transfer portal once again.

Fans are set to get their first glimpse of Sparty on Friday, Sept. 2 as they host Western Michigan. But if you’re having trouble finding the game on your television, there’s a reason why.

What channel is the Michigan State football game on tonight, Sept. 2?

Initially, the Michigan State football game was set to be broadcast on ESPN proper. However, with Serena Williams advancing at the US Open in tennis, that took precedence and bumped the Spartans to another network.

Don’t worry, though, it still won’t be hard to find. Sparty will be on ESPN2 instead of the main network on Friday night.

MSU comes into the game as more than a three-touchdown favorite and should be able to cruise to a relatively easy win over their in-state foes. Then again, we’ve seen things get crazy in Week 1 before, so you can never rule anything out.

No matter what happens, though, you know where to find the action after the game was moved pretty much at the last minute.
