2) Cardinals mercenary Corey Dickerson will find a new home in 2023

Corey Dickerson has played for a lot of ball clubs since making his debut in 2013. Now in his mid-30s, he is a still in-demand left-handed outfielder that could fit well on many rosters in a part-time role.

Dickerson is definitely someone we could see return to St. Louis. However, with possibly better opportunities out there for some additional playing time, he’s going to receive decent enough one-year offers. The DH in the National League will help him stick around a little longer than most players in his situation.

Throughout his career, Dickerson has been prone to have the occasional power surge. Those days of stepping up to the plate 500+ times a season are probably long gone. In a platoon situation, however, he could be a very useful player.

Whether it’s on a contender in the same role he has held with the Cardinals this season or a rebuilding club just looking for some experience and warm bodies, Dickerson is at the point of his career where each season could bring a different uniform. He would make for a very good part-time left fielder/DH for some ball club. Someone like the New York Yankees could actually be a great fit. He’s a very different type of player than Joey Gallo. The short porch in right field could have him feeling nostalgic about his early seasons with the Colorado Rockies.
