3. CeeDee Lamb will lead Dallas in receiving yards

Cowboys fans are concerned about how the team’s receiving corps will operate without the services of Amari Cooper. At the very least, his departure should allow Lamb to seize a larger target share this season.

Lamb should see the majority of his snaps from the slot if things go according to plan for Dallas. That means he’ll match up frequently against Sean Murphy-Bunting in the opener. That’s not an ideal matchup for Lamb but getting him off to a good start will be a high priority for the team’s brass.

The former Oklahoma star’s ability to produce yards after the catch could be the determining factor for the Cowboys’ chances of winning this game. This offense needs Lamb to provide big plays to generate enough space for Prescott to complete intermediate throws to keep drives alive.

Lamb is going to get a lot of short throws in the first quarter with the hope that he can unlock his team’s passing game. Look for him to break a crossing route or two into big gains to keep Dallas in the game early. The Buccaneers will shut him down late but he’ll do enough in the first half to lead his team in receiving yards when the final whistle blows.
