2. Top Fantasy Football Pickups for Week 1 – Baltimore Ravens RB Mike Davis

Baltimore is one of the most prolific rushing teams in the NFL and savvy fantasy owners like to get a piece of the Ravens’ rushing attack. J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards were presumed to be the top ball carriers entering the season, but Edwards will begin the year on the PUP list as he continues to work his way back from an ACL tear that cost him the entire 2021 season.

The Ravens are expected to be cautious with Dobbins, who is also coming off a season-ending injury of his own, so Baltimore will need another back to split the load with Dobbins. Enter Davis, a free-agent acquisition, who has received the majority of the reps for Baltimore in practice.

ESPN’s Jamison Hensley has noted that Davis could be in line for a big role early in the season, which would put him into play as a potential fantasy starter in Week 1. The Ravens also have a friendly matchup in Week 1 against the New York Jets, who had noted difficulty stopping the run throughout the 2021 season.

Davis is rostered in just 25 percent of Yahoo leagues but could be in line for some huge early workloads if the Ravens opt to proceed cautiously with Dobbins. Pick up Davis right now and get him into your Week 1 lineup as a flex option if you’re not thrilled with the other choices at your disposal.
