3. Miles Sanders vs. Detroit Lions

Miles Sanders has been an often-debated name amongst fantasy circles this offseason. On one hand, he only had five games last season with 15 or more touches, which is low for someone who you’re counting on for starting-caliber production. On the other hand, he’s the RB1 for the Eagles’ up-and-coming offense with little touch competition behind him.

Season-long, we can debate Sanders’ draft value, but for Week 1 against Detroit, he’s guaranteed to have at least a decent fantasy day. The 28th-ranked run defense last year, the Lions will likely have another tough year watching running backs carve them up this season. The first test will be Sanders.

Sanders is an RB2/flex play this week, with higher upside due to this matchup. In terms of daily fantasy, there are worse options than Sanders in the mid-tiers of running backs.
