The Alabama Crimson Tide avoided a massive upset at the hands of the Texas Longhorns thanks to a Heisman moment from quarterback Bryce Young.
Young, who won the Heisman just last season, could be well on his way to another. Should he receive another invite to New York City at the end of the year, his escapability against Texas will surely be on the highlight reel.

Texas left too much time on the clock after a field goal gave them the lead late in the fourth quarter. One minute or more is way too much time for a player like Young, who is expected to be a top-10 pick (and perhaps No. 1) in next year’s NFL Draft.
Alabama could hang on to their No. 1 AP Poll slot for now, while Texas still has more work to do. But it should serve as a reminder to all of college football that on a bad day, this version of the Crimson Tide is beatable.

While Saban and Co. were able to survive this round, a close bout with the unranked Longhorns will serve as a warning for a team expected to make the College Football Playoff with relative ease.
Social media had a field day with the result, per usual, and poked some fun at Texas in the process.
No disrespect to Bryce Young, but this is the exact moment we should have known Texas was going to blow it pic.twitter.com/dOrNHQYAUI

The refs robbed Texas all game. Texas still had a chance despite this, but this was pathetic and bias officiating.

If Ted Cruz is in attendance, it’s bound to end poorly. Sorry, folks.
The Longhorns should earn themselves a few AP Poll votes this week, at the very least. They deserve a spot somewhere in the 20’s, especially with several teams likely falling out this early in the year.
Even with the loss, it’s not a bad day to be a Texas football fan.
