Bryce Young was the Heisman Trophy winner for Alabama football last season, but here is all of the information you could want to know about the QB.

Bryce Young didn’t waste any time becoming an Alabama football legend. In his first season as a starter for the Crimson Tide, the quarterback led his team to a berth in the National Championship Game and also captured the Heisman Trophy.

Now he comes into the 2022 season with expectations to win a national title but also to be one of the top picks in the 2023 NFL Draft and rightfully so. With that said, his raised profile might have fans wondering a lot quite about him.

The Alabama quarterback is going to be in that sweet spot for NFL teams in terms of age as he’s just 21 years old. He’ll be that same age when the draft happens as his birthday is July 25, 2001, making him even more enticing given his youth.

Young is originally from Santa Ana, CA and went to high school at one of the historic quarterback hotbeds for recruiting, noted Mater Dei High School.

Alabama lists the quarterback at 6-foot, 194 pounds for the 2022 season, which is actually larger than he was as a recruit when he came to Tuscaloosa at 5-foot-11, 183 pounds.

Despite being in the transfer portal era and not starting immediately for the Crimson Tide, Young has never transferred. He’s been at Bama since Day 1 and has not wavered.

He was No. 2 in the nation in the 247 Sports Composite rankings behind only current Clemson star defensive tackle Bryan Bresee (and it was a close race for the top spot). Obviously given that, though, the Alabama signal-caller was the highest-ranked quarterback in the recruiting class.
