College football rankings 2022: Projected Week 3 AP Top 25 after Alabama survives, Notre Dame & Texas A&M fall
Projected AP Top 25 college football rankings after Week 2: No. 10-9
10. Arkansas Razorbacks
You truly might be hard-pressed to find a better pair of wins in the country through the first two weeks of the season than what Sam Pittman has led Arkansas to at the beginning of the season for the Razorbacks.
One week after taking down Cincinnati in a terrific game, the Hogs welcomed their first SEC foe of the year in an upstart South Carolina team to Fayetteville and delivered a strong, emphatic 44-30 victory that was much less close than the final score would have it appear.
KJ Jefferson has looked like a dark-horse Heisman candidate to this point and the offense is absolutely humming. If the defense can shore some things up, Arkansas has the potential to cause a lot of problems in the SEC this year.
9. Michigan State Spartans
It’s just two games against Group of 5 teams, but it seems like Mel Tucker isn’t about to let up from the run he took Sparty on a season ago. After roughing up Western Michigan in a convincing win to begin the year, the Spartans absolutely lit up East Lansing with a 52-0 shellacking of Akron on Saturday to move to 2-0 on the season and start raising hopes once again.
While there isn’t a Kenneth Walker III this season, Jarek Broussard and Jalen Berger appear to be a 1-2 punch capable of carrying the offense. More importantly, the defense has been stifling to this point in the season. Payton Thorne remains a question mark and his two-interception performance in Week 2 didn’t answer much. But this team is still going to be quite potent and capable of winning almost any Big Ten game.
