The long-awaited Week 1 of the NFL season is finally here, but conditions are less than favorable for the Chicago Bears and the San Francisco 49ers on opening day.
After some downpours in Chicago, the field is soaked and creates huge splashes just from a player running, as shown in a Tweet by Ari Meirov of PFF.
The 49ers arrived at Soldier Field in the pouring rain, making for a memorable first day of the season. At that point, the field was shown covered, but the tarp didnāt preserve the field very well.

The flooding on the field is so bad that people maintaining it are squeegeeing to clear out as much water as possible. Thatās certainly a unique way to kick off the first NFL Sunday of the 2022 season.
The rain, however, wasnāt the only issue in Chicago. Though the weather canāt be controlled, the painted sideline can be.
The Bears sideline at Soldier Field is completely unfavorable
The painted sideline is almost humorous, as it looks like a child free-handedly painted it.
Everything about the game conditions are questionable, and calls are about to be extremely confusing. Evidently, thereās no clear line, so one spot on the field would be over the line while the same spot further down wouldnāt be.
Though it appears the Bears couldāve spent a little bit more time preparing for the season opener, the game is certainly one to be excited for.
