With every batch of college football rankings, there are always more questions than answers.

Week 3 is upon us, but we still have a handful of lingering questions about a few Top 25 teams in the latest college football rankings put forth by the Associated Press.

To be fair, these questions are not about the rankings themselves, but more about are these top-tier teams good enough to seriously contend for a championship? Some may view it as a three-team race for the national title bout, but somebody else has to make the College Football Playoff to round out the top four. Of course, there are plenty of teams with serious playoff aspirations…

Here are five questions about major Top 25 programs that are still lingering a bit entering Week 3.

5. Are the Georgia Bulldogs the best team in the country, thus poised to repeat?

After two games, the Georgia Bulldogs have climbed up from No. 3 all the way to the No. 1 spot in the AP Top 25. The Dawgs have not allowed a touchdown this season, blowing out Oregon in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff and FCS Samford in their home opener. While they are on a shortlist of teams who can seriously win it all with Alabama and Ohio State, are the Dawgs best equipped to repeat?

It is early, but Ohio State had its issues offensively with Notre Dame, a team that still hasn’t won a game under Marcus Freeman. Last week, we saw Nick Saban nearly fall to his third former protege in Steve Sarkisian. Alabama needed a last-second field goal to hold off being upset by Texas at DKR. For now, Georgia looks like it’s the most complete team in the country, but a lot can change.

The Dawgs do have a sneaky-tough game this Saturday, as they will be playing at South Carolina.
