On the heels of an upset-filled weekend, which teams are in danger still? Our college football upset picks for Week 3 shed some light on the matter.

Last week more than made up for the stark lack of upsets in the opening week of college football. The day began with Alabama almost falling to Texas but it didn’t remotely stop there.

Notre Dame and Texas A&M both fell to Sun Belt teams at home (Marshall and Appalachian State, respectively) as Top 10 teams in the country. Florida then lost to Kentucky at home and BYU knocked off Baylor in Provo. And that’s just the end results of what was a truly wild day in the sport throughout the country.

So will this week recapture that upset magic? There are fewer obvious places to look this week, but these five teams make up our college football upset picks for Week 3.

College football upset picks for Week 3: 5 teams on upset alert

5. Oklahoma Sooners

Opponent: at Nebraska | Time: Saturday, Sept. 17, Noon ET | Spread: OU -10.5

On paper and based on résumé, there should be no concern for Brent Venables and the Sooners for this game, even if they have to go on the road to Lincoln for the matchup. With the Huskers having losses to Northwestern and Georgia Southern, it’s safe to say Oklahoma is a cut above.

At the same time, though, there are three things worth noting. First, OU only being favored by 10.5 points is curious as the line should be much larger given what we’ve seen from these teams. Second, this is a renewal of an old rivalry, meaning all bets are off. And lastly, we’ve seen teams rally around a coaching change and Scott Frost being out could rejuvenate Nebraska.

When you then look at Oklahoma playing with their food against Kent State, we could see things get dicey for the Sooners on the road this week.
