Miami football heads to College Station to face Texas A&M on Saturday but, after the Aggies’ Midnight Yell has been mocked, the Canes showed how it’s done.

The Texas A&M tradition of the Midnight Yell has been in full focus after the Aggies’ upset loss to Appalachian State as the one prior to that defeat was circulating around social media and being mocked, which A&M tried to stop by filing copyright violations to have the video taken down. But now they can’t even do that with the latest thing that makes them look bad.

On Saturday night in Week 3, the Aggies will welcome Miami football to College Station for a Top 25 matchup with both teams having quite a lot to prove at this point in the season. And prior to that game, the Hurricanes had their own pseudo-pep rally led by none other than program and NFL legend Michael Irvin.

Let’s just say that he put the Texas A&M Yell Leader to absolute shame with what he offered to hype up The U.

Miami football: Michael Irvin puts Texas A&M’s Midnight Yell to shame

My god.

If Mario Cristobal needs a strength coach or someone on the sidelines who can fire up the troops, it seems like Irvin is the one to get the job done. That’s the energy that gets players and fans alike ready to run through multiple brick walls.

Now the players have to carry that same energy into Kyle Field. While all of the focus has rightfully been on A&M for the uninspiring start to the season, Miami has looked far from perfect against poor competition. A win in College Station, however, would go a long way in creating belief that The U is back under Cristobal.
