After throwing a game-winning Hail Mary, App State quarterback Chase Brice helped get fans down from the stands as they rushed the field.
It wasnāt enough for App State to worm its way into the hearts of every college football fan with epic upsets and an electric College GameDay atmosphere.
Apparently, they also know how to give the sports world some chicken soup for the soul.
Quarterback Chase Brice heaved the winning Hail Mary pass that somehow made it into Christan Hornās hands with no time left on the clock. Instead of losing his mind and celebrating like a madman, the level-headed game-winner jogged over to the student section and gave a helping hand to the fans who poured out onto the field.
App State QB Chase Brice threw a TD than whipped up chicken soup for the soul
Could Brice have been any more wholesome in that moment? The only thing missing was a baby to kiss or an old woman to help across the street.
Kudos to Brice. Kudos to whoever raised him right. And Kudos to the Mountaineers for having a quarterback like him.
This is just further proof that App State is one of the best things to happen to college football. Theyāve only been at the FBS level since 2014 but theyāve already become the team that might be the easiest to root for in all of college football.
Theyāve done everything right, winning six of seven bowl games since they moved up a division. Theyāve upset the likes of Texas A&M and then danced in the streets in the rain. Theyāve hosted College GameDay like pros. And theyāve thrilled fans week in and week out with fun football.
