2022 NFL power rankings, Week 3: Bills roll, Raiders stunned
Matt Eberflus’ squad pulled off one of the bigger upsets of Week 1 in stunning the Bears at rainy Soldier Field. Now the Bears made their way to Soldier Field for another prime time clash with the Packers. Chicago owned an early 7-3 lead but were down, 24-7, at intermission and outgained in total yards, 233-84.
It didn’t get any better in the second half and by game’s end, Eberflus’ team had allowed 203 on the ground and Justin Fields was kept in check.
Tennessee made its way to Orchard Park for the first time since 2018 as the Titans and Bills clashed for the fifth straight year. Mike Vrabel’s club was outgained 234-90 in the first half and trailed 17-7 at intermission.
Things got worse for the defending AFC South champions, who turned over the football four times (two interceptions by Ryan Tannehill) while finishing the night with only 187 total yards. And Tennessee is 0-2 for the first time since 2012.
Off a somewhat surprising Monday night loss at Seattle, the Broncos hosted the 0-0-1 Texans in a battle of winless teams. The Denver offense continued to have its issues, especially in the red zone. And Nathaniel Hackett’s club was limited to exactly 16 points for the second time in seven days.
But the Broncos’ defense did not surrender a touchdown, allowed just 234 total yards (80 rushing) and sacked Texans’ quarterback Davis Mills three times.
