Aaron Judge took another step towards history on Tuesday night as he cranked his 60th home run of the season, tying Babe Ruth for second in AL history.
With the way that Aaron Judge has been playing in the second half of the season, it’s felt like a matter of when and not if the New York Yankees slugger was going to break the American League record set by Roger Maris.
But first, he had to get to 60 and match the mark set by another Yankees legend, Babe Ruth.
He did that in monstrous and dramatic fashion on Tuesday night with a tattooed blast against the Pittsburgh Pirates in the bottom of the ninth, making history as he tied Ruth for second in American League history in a single season.
No. 60 for Aaron Judge in all its glory 😍

Even better for Aaron Judge is the fact that the home run absolutely was necessary for the Yankees as they entered the ninth inning trailing Pittsburgh.
Judge’s 60th home run started a rally as the bases were loaded after his dinger. Giancarlo Stanton then finished off the Pirates with a blast of his own, a walk-off grand slam.
On any other night, Stanton’s home would’ve been the biggest story. But with Judge making history and pursuing even more in the process, that’s all anyone is going to totally care about.
