Philadelphia Eagles fans were enjoying being on the other side of a poor Carson Wentz performance.
The Philadelphia Eagles used to have a quarterback named Carson Wentz. There were the highs of an MVP-caliber season in 2017, but then there were the lows of not being able to replicate that year and turning the ball over seemingly at will. Now, Wentz is on the Washington Commanders, one year after the Eagles traded him to the Indianapolis Colts.
Wentz faced off against his former team for the very first time, but he did not have a revenge story. Instead, the revenge was from the Philly defense, as they pummeled him with sacks, and forced a bevy or turnovers. That allowed the Eagles offense to feast.
In the first half, Wentz completed 3-of-10 pass attempts for just 24 yards, and he was sacked six times. That’s right, six times in the first half.
Eagles fans troll Carson Wentz as he struggles in Week 3
To say Eagles fans took joy in being on the other side of a bad Wentz game is an understatement. They breathed a sigh of relief, especially after watching how Jalen Hurts played in this same game.

Wentz 3 completions
Everybody warns you about him. "He's no good for you. He's got problems. He always has."

But you think you can change him.
That's Carson Wentz.
God if Wentz gets benched, I will be insufferable

Wentz holding the ball too long, some things never change 🦅

Carson Wentz playing well for the #Eagles today

Wentz heard about that Jimmy G trade.

Absolutely no mercy.
At one point in the game, Wentz and Washington’s passing offense accumulated -1 net passing yards. That is Mike Glennon-esque. Last season, Glennon played for the rival New York Giants and put up -10 net passing yards last season against the Chicago Bears. 24 passing yards plus 34 yards lost via sacks equals -10 net passing yards.

Meanwhile Hurts showed out in the first half, as he threw for 279 yards and three touchdowns while completing 18-of-27 pass attempts.
Late in the game, Commanders fans left the game at FedEx Field. Eagles fans actually waved goodbye to them. The following video footage comes courtesy of 94 WIP’s Eliot Shorr-Parks.

This will be a game that Wentz won’t look back at too fondly. Hell, he may not look back at it at all. This is a “burn the tape” kind of game not just for Wentz, but for the entire Commanders team.
