One fan was seen with a towel over his head to protect himself from leaking water during the Week 3 game.
EJ Smith of the Philadelphia Inquirer Tweeted a photo and wrote, “There’s a fan here who has a towel over his head to protect him from the support beam that has been leaking water for the last few hours. Oof.”
FedEx Field is a mess for Eagles-Commanders
This isn’t the first time FedEx Field has posed issues. Some of the faults in the stadium have nearly caused injury to fans. Back in January, a railing in the stadium collapsed and caused several fans to fall and hit the ground. As far as the Commanders are aware, nobody was injured.
According to John Keim of ESPN, Washington released a statement that stated, “To our knowledge, everyone involved was offered onsite medical evaluation and left the stadium of their own accord. We’re very glad no one appears to have been seriously injured. The safety of our fans and guests is of the utmost importance and we are looking into what occurred.”
Repairs have been made to the field, but there’s clearly still an issue in some areas. Luckily, leaking water doesn’t necessarily pose any risk of physical injury more than just pure annoyance.
