NBA Season Preview 2022-23: Every team’s current longest-tenured player

Philadelphia 76ers: Joel Embiid, 6 years
The No. 3 overall pick in the 2014 draft, Joel Embiid did not make his NBA debut until the 2016-17 season for the Process-laden Sixers. Embiid only played 31 games and just 25.4 minutes per game in his rookie season, but he averaged 20 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists and 2.5 blocks. The Sixers won just 28 games that season, but it was 18 more wins than the season before (!!) as Wells Fargo Center had one of the most raucous crowds in the league.
Last summer, Embiid signed a four-year, $196 million supermax extension that will not begin until next season (2023-24).
