3. Top Fantasy Football Pickups For Week 4 – Cleveland Browns TE David Njoku

Njoku was actually a popular sleeper target at tight end in fantasy drafts for a good reason. The Browns had given Njoku a big contract in the offseason and spoke favorably about incorporating him into the offense, but pedestrian efforts in Weeks 1 and 2 led many owners to give up on Njoku.

The breakout may have happened for Njoku in Week 3, who was Jacoby Brissett’s preferred target against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Brissett targeted Njoku ten times on Thursday night and he caught nine of them for 89 yards and a touchdown, easily his best performance of the season.

Cleveland is also fond of Njoku’s blocking ability, which is a big reason why he was targeted just once in their season opener against Carolina, but the Browns’ coaching staff quickly realized the error of its ways. Njoku was targeted five times in Week 2 and turned three of those into receptions, showcasing his growing responsibility in the passing game thanks to a strong connection with Brissett.

Tight ends with solid floors and high ceilings should be rostered en masse so it is surprising that Njoku is only rostered in 51 percent of Yahoo leagues. Managers in need of tight end help should sprint to the waiver wire to grab Njoku immediately.
