New Orleans Saints placekicker Will Lutz nearly sent the game in London into overtime with a double-doink field goal in the last quarter.

New Orleans Saints placekicker Will Lutz nearly sent the London game against the Minnesota Vikings into overtime with a double-doink field goal in the last quarter. He would’ve tied the game, but he just barely missed the mark.

He kicked from 61 yards in the final seconds of the game after kicking from 60 yards just a few minutes prior, but it wasn’t enough to tie up the close 28-25 game. The game was extremely competitive and the first international contest of the season.

Twitter never fails to bring fans together with humorous reactions, and when mixed with a double-doink, the outcome is hilarious.

Many fans are seeing similarities between Lutz’s unfortunate field goal miss and Cody Parkey’s in 2019 during the NFC Wild Card game. It’s a fair comparison, each resulted in a frustrating loss.

Another made a jab at Parkey with a gif of an annoyed-looking Chicago Bears coach and a caption, “Bears realizing they’re no longer the only ones.”

One fan thought outside the box with a reference to WWE’s Doink the Clown. The fan Tweeted a gif of two clowns in the ring and captioned it, “The rare double Doink.”

And there were more where those came from.

The situation was certainly frustrating for Saints fans, but it created some great reactions, at least.
