3. Top Fantasy Football Pickups For Week 5 – Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff

We told you about Goff in this space last week but it doesn’t appear that many people acted on that tip. That is unfortunate since you missed out on an incredible fantasy effort from Goff that may have helped teams who started him pick up a weekly victory.

Goff lit up the Seahawks on the losing end of the 48-45 shootout, completing 26-of-39 passes for 378 yards with four touchdowns against just one interception. The 378 yards is a season high for Goff and the four touchdowns match his total from Week 2, giving him 11 touchdowns against just three interceptions on the season.

This effort from Goff was even more impressive since Detroit was missing multiple playmakers from its offense, including No. 1 receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown and top running back D’Andre Swift. The fact that Goff was able to generate 45 points of offense without top tier talent is a huge positive for his fantasy value going forward.

Goff’s rostered percentage on Yahoo increased just seven points week-to-week, going from 45 percent in Week 3 to 52 percent entering Week 4. This is likely your last shot to get on board with Goff, who is proving that he should be in the tier of QB1s again.
