Jonathan Taylor suffered an ankle injury during Sunday’s game. The Colts are scheduled to play the Broncos on Thursday night, so Taylor could sit out this week.

If Taylor is ruled out, Hines would become the top running back on the depth chart. Hines has always been heavily utilized as a pass catcher. In fact, he has more than targets than rushing attempts during his career. In 2020, Taylor missed a game, and Hines received ten carries.

However, the Colts’ current running back options are slim. There is no Jordan Wilkins or Marlon Mack to take on a chunk of the workload. They only have one other running back on their roster, former undrafted free agent Deon Jackson. In 13 career games with the Colts, Jackson has 15 carries for 28 yards and a touchdown.

If Taylor does not suit up, Hines projects to be a three-down back on Thursday. He is a solid streaming option, and his value will remain slightly higher in PPR leagues than in standard leagues.
