Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr. exhibited pure joy the moment he realized his team won the NL East in a wholesome play.
In quite possibly the most wholesome video on the internet, Ronald Acuña Jr. caught a pop fly with complete awe and joy in his eyes. Then, he ran off in excitement as his team clinched the NL East.
The Braves fought long and hard to take the top spot of the division from the New York Mets, and they finally achieved the feat when the season was practically over. The defending World Series champions are now guaranteed a spot in the Divisional Series, and Acuña gets to be a part of it this year.
Ronald Acuña Jr. will be part of the playoffs this year with the Braves
Acuña had to sit out of the playoffs and the latter half of the regular season in 2021 with a torn ACL. He got to be part of the 2020 playoff run, but he’s never been to a World Series. There’s a solid chance of Atlanta making it this season, and as long as he can stay off the injured list, he’ll get to help bring his team toward another consecutive title.
Acuña’s health, however, has been a bit concerning. He’s had a plethora of injuries this season and stated early in September that his knee was in a lot of pain, but he plans on playing through it until the season is over. His dedication to the team is obvious, but the Braves could be set back if he isn’t careful and ends up unable to play through the playoffs.
His performance this season has been below what it typically is, but that’s understandable considering his injuries. He’s still a force that will help the Braves toward another championship, and if he remains healthy, he could be a key player in the postseason run.
