After weeks of speculation over the “white rabbit” teases in WWE, it was revealed to be none other than the returning Bray Wyatt.

In recent days, there has been a mystery at WWE live events and television programming, as the lights would go down and eventually turn red when Jefferson Airplane’s hit song “White Rabbit” played in the arena.

The mystery only continued, as a variety of QR codes were shown on WWE programming, leading fans to clues as to who the White Rabbit could be. On the Oct. 7 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, a video aired of an 8-bit Wyatt Rabbit falling down a hole with fire erupting form it. Then, “10.8.22” and “Feed Your Head” flashed on the screen. That date was for the Extreme Rules premium live event.

At Extreme Rules, following the main event Fight Pit match between Matt Riddle and  the “white rabbit” teases were from none other than the returning Bray Wyatt!

The lights went out and a variety of Wyatt’s Firefly Funhouse puppets took human form, and were scattered across Wells Fargo Center. Then, cameras cut to the Funhouse covered in spiderwebs, when a television turned on with a masked figure asking “you killed the world?” To which they responded, “you did.”

A doorway was placed at the top of the entrance ramp. It opened up, where fans saw a familiar lantern. Then, it was held by the masked figure, who revealed themselves to be Wyatt.

Twitter users shared their reactions to Wyatt making his return to WWE for the first time in over a year.

Wyatt last wrestled with WWE back at WrestleMania 37, where he lost to Randy Orton. On July 31 of that year, WWE announced that they have released Wyatt from his contract, despite his popularity among fans.

Originally debuting on the main roster as Husky Harris, he transformed into “The Eater of Worlds” Bray Wyatt. With this character, Wyatt had high profile feuds against the likes of John Cena, the Undertaker, and the Shield. In 2017, he won the WWE Championship for the first time in his career, defeating Cena, AJ Styles, Dean Ambrose, The Miz, and Baron Corbin in an Elimination Chamber match.

Wyatt reinvented his character in 2019 as a children’s television show host, standing in the “Firefly Funhouse.”  But, Wyatt had an evil alter ego called “The Fiend, who was essentially a masked horror movie villain. He won the Universal Championship twice as “The Fiend,” defeating Seth Rollins at Crown Jewel in 2019 and Braun Strowman in 2020.

The mystery of the “white rabbit” has been solved, and it is Bray Wyatt.
