4. Top Fantasy Football Pickups For Week 6 – Indianapolis Colts WR Alec Pierce

Let’s stay with the Colts here and look at Alec Pierce, a rookie wide receiver out of Cincinnati. Indianapolis has been searching for weapons to work with Michael Pittman on the perimeter and Pierce has begun to step up of late.

Pierce had a breakout game against the Denver Broncos in Week 5, catching eight passes for 81 yards while working the intermediate areas. Ryan looked Pierce’s way nine times in the game, a nice workload after he had averaged five targets a game over the previous two weeks.

The target volume is important here because Pierce’s skill set is a better match for Ryan’s limited arm strength, which the Colts may begin to plan around after their mini-bye this week. If Pierce continues to receive seven targets a game and converts most of them into receptions, that is a solid floor for PPR leagues and makes him a valuable player to have on your bench with bye weeks approaching.

Rostered in just eight percent of Yahoo leagues, Pierce may sneak through waivers this week and could be a helpful pickup for fantasy owners to navigate their bye weeks. Pierce is a solid flex play for Week 6 against the Jaguars and should be in the mix for owners throughout the rest of the season due to his budding chemistry with Ryan.
