Nepotism is going to ruin Kirk Ferentz’s once-illustrious tenure at Iowa City

Nothing is changing and it keeps getting worse. The tale of the Iowa Hawkeyes’ nepotism offense being run into the ground by over-his-skis offensive coordinator Brian Ferentz. He is allowed to do whatever he “does”, mostly because his father Kirk Ferentz is the longest-tenured head coach in the Power Five. The elder Ferentz may be a legend, but time runs out for all of us. What a shame!

It is a combination of not adapting offensively and the rest of the Big Ten West leveling up in the coaching department. Thus far, we have already seen Nebraska and Wisconsin make moves at head coach. Scott Frost out in Lincoln was painfully obvious, but Paul Chryst out at his alma mater in Madison was somewhat shocking. After last week, Iowa may have to force Ferentz into early retirement…

Iowa has been held under 10 points three times this season, so it has earned that bad 3-3 record.

A win over UVA takes pressure off Scott Satterfield at Louisville, but only barely

Had Louisville lost on the road in Charlottesville, that might have been all she wrote for Scott Satterfield leading the Cardinals football program. U of L is back at 3-3, but the Cards are getting leapfrogged by one team after another in the ACC Atlantic. Unfortunately, how sure are we that they win a single game the rest of the way? What Louisville has left to play is absolutely brutal…

While they host Pitt in two weeks, that is the only unranked team left on their schedule. Louisville still has to play Clemson, NC State and Wake Forest in the division, as well as drawing James Madison and in-state rival Kentucky in the non-conference. It is hard to envision U of L going bowling at this point. It might be time to play Jeff Brohm whatever it takes for him to come home.

Prepare yourself to live in a world where Louisville finishes in dead last in the ACC Atlantic in 2022.
