Frustrating stat shows Chiefs could be in for long day against Bills

A rematch of the exciting 2020 AFC Conference Championship (38-24, Chiefs) and 2021 AFC Divisional Round (42-36, Chiefs), Kansas City has more or less been the deterrent to the Bills capitalizing on great talent over the last several years.

This year, though, the Bills look more equipped than ever and ready to finally get past the Chiefs. One stat indicates the Week 6 matchup could be a long one for the Chiefs if they don’t rectify an issue, and fast.

Chiefs offensive line has allowed a lot of pressure

As one Redditor pointed out, the Chiefs lead the league in hurried passes through five weeks (28). Credit to Patrick Mahomes, he has scrambled enough to avoid being hit all that often (10th most in the NFL), but that’s not a good look for the Chiefs.

That’s bad news on its own, but let’s consider the stat contextually… The Bills are first in the league in hurry percentage. Von Miller, who wasn’t with the Bills last year, has proven to be a great signing, leading the team with 7 quarterback hurries so far this season. He figures to be a substantial piece of the puzzle for the Bills gameplan against the Chiefs on Sunday.

Obviously, Mahomes is one of (if not the single best) the best quarterbacks in the league. A more fortified offensive line would certainly help him be even better, but his ability to make something out of nothing is like no other.
