Padres fans responded to the perfect bulletin board material

The San Diego Padres are facing the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLDS, and Dodgers pitcher Tony Gonsolin spoke too soon on the environment of the two stadiums.
Gonsolin said, “We’re fortunate enough to play here at Dodger Stadium, and we get 45-, 50,000 people every night when we play. Can’t imagine it’s any more loud than that,” according to Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic.
Los Angeles fans undoubtedly love their team, but the statement was pretty inaccurate and Padres fans didn’t hold back their thoughts and roasts on the statement.
Padres fans react to Dodgers pitcher Tony Gonsolin’s statement
The Padres hadn’t been to the playoffs since 2006 (excluding the partial 2020 season), so fans were excited. The Dodgers, on the other hand, have been to the playoffs every year since 2013 and won the 2020 World Series, so an appearance is nothing new for fans.
One fan noted a lack of attendance at Dodger Stadium with a picture of the stands half-empty and wrote, “I was at Dodgers stadium last night and they couldn’t even sell out a playoff game. Was it loud? Sure. But not half as loud as a few mid-august games at Petco I attended. Here is their ‘sellout’ crowd last night in the 4th inning.”
Another kept it brief and real and stated, “dodger stadium wasn’t even sold out.”
One challenged the statement with a hilarious gif captioned, “Watch this.” The fan wrote, “@PetcoPark , @Padres and the entire Padres Nation be like:”
Another fan simply wrote, “Hahaha as the kids say, ‘Bet.'”
Padres play-by-play announcer Don Orsillo confirmed the attendance at Petco Park was incredible with a video of fans cheering. He stated, “Insane atmosphere here tonight @PetcoPark
well done #FriarFaithful@Padres.”
San Diego fans are excited to see their team thrive in the postseason, as they should be.
