The Philadelphia Phillies defeated the Atlanta Braves in the NLDS, and they’re officially headed to the NLCS for the first time since 2010.

The Philadelphia Phillies overtook the defending World Series champions, the Atlanta Braves, in the NLDS. They’re officially headed to the NLCS for the first time since 2010, and they had a huge celebration in the locker room.

The locker room was set up with tables and alcohol — which is always a great start. Players were pouring alcohol on each other, there were colorful lights and media members everywhere and everyone was thrilled about such a big feat.

Even the owner of the Phillies, John Middleton, joined the celebration with alcohol sprayed onto him. The celebration was truly crazy in the best way possible, and Philadelphia deserves to celebrate in the greatest ways they see fit.

Philadelphia just ended a 10-season playoff drought in one of the best ways possible. Then, of course, there’s the anthem of this team:

Phillies have a chance at the World Series

Realistically, Philadelphia could make it to the World Series this season. They cruised past two of their toughest possible opponents, the St. Louis Cardinals and the Braves, and they’re left to face either the Los Angeles Dodgers or the San Diego Padres.

The Dodgers would be a more difficult matchup, but the Padres are currently one win away from advancing. However, the Padres have shown they’re better than their regular season record suggests. The Phillies have the potential to beat out either team.

The Phillies have only made seven World Series appearances, so this would be a huge moment. The team fought hard for their spot, and they’re doing this the hard way. If they do make it, the celebrations won’t be contained to just the clubhouse.
