Philadelphia Phillies fans were ecstatic after the team advanced to the NLCS by defeating their rivals and the defending World Series champion Atlanta Braves.
The Philadelphia Phillies were the final team in 2022 to clinch a postseason berth. They then pulled off a massive upset in the Wild Card Series, sweeping the St. Louis Cardinals in two games to win their first postseason series since 2010. They then had the opportunity to face their rivals and the defending World Series champions in the Atlanta Braves in the NLDS.
Philadelphia’s magical run in the postseason is not done. Not even close to it.
On Saturday, they defeated the Braves 8-3 in Game 4 to advance to the NLCS for the first time in 12 years. To make that feat that much sweeter, they sent the champions packing to do so.
Phillies fans were understandably pumped up by the win.
Phillies fans lose it after team advances to NLCS

The Mets and Braves both won 101 games this season. The Phillies are going to the NLCS. Mets and Braves are going to Cancun.

The Phillies got off the most ideal start fans could have asked for. In the bottom of the second inning, outfielder Brandon Marsh crushed a 83.4-mph curveball thrown by Charlie Morton and sent it over the fence in right center field to give Philadelphia an early 3-0 lead.
After a solo home run by Orlando Arcia in the top of the third, Philadelphia’s good vibes only continued in the bottom of the inning after catcher J.T. Realmuto hit an inside-the-park home run to extend their lead to 4-1.
Philadelphia helped secure the victory by a three-run sixth inning on singles by Rhys Hoskins, Bryce Harper, and Realmuto. Harper then further made the end result official with a solo home run in the bottom of the eighth inning.
Relief pitcher Seranthony Dominguez clinched the team’s trip to the NLCS by striking out Dansby Swanson, Matt Olson and Travis d’arnaud in the ninth.
What a year for Philadelphia sports fans. The Eagles are undefeated entering Week 6, and the Phillies are heading to the NLCS. The Phillies will now play the winner of the San Diego Padres-Los Angeles Dodgers series.
Next. The Josh Hader trade was a miscalculation by the Milwaukee Brewers. dark
