Heisman Trophy Power Rankings: Hendon Hooker is biggest threat to CJ Stroud
By Scott Rogust
The Michigan Wolverines are still undefeated on the year, and their electric rushing attack played a huge role in that. Their running back corps is, of course, led by Blake Corum, and he had yet another big game on Saturday.
Facing off against the No. 10 Penn State Nittany Lions, Corum ran for 166 yards and two touchdowns on 28 carries. It was a great day for the Wolverines running backs, as they accumulated 418 yards on the ground against Penn State.
Entering Week 7, Corum recorded 735 yards and 11 touchdowns on 118 carries.
Corum will next play Michigan State in Week 9. The Wolverines have a bye next week.
Bryce Young made his return for Alabama after suffering a shoulder injury in Week 6 against Arkansas. Last year’s Heisman Trophy winner showed why he is not only one of the top quarterbacks in all of college football, but one of the top prospects in the 2023 NFL Draft class. While they were on the losing end, Young gave Tennessee’s defense fits.
Young threw for 455 yards and two touchdowns while completing 35-of-52 pass attempts. The thing is, those numbers were not enough, especially with Hooker having an equally tremendous game in Knoxville.
Entering the game, Young recorded 1,202 passing yards, 14 passing touchdowns, three interceptions and a 67.2 completion percentage.
Alabama takes on Mississippi State in Week 8, as the Crimson Tide look to win out for the remainder of the regular season.
