4. Latavius Murray, Denver Broncos

The Broncos made Latavius Murray the immediate starter last week, giving him 16 touches compared to Melvin Gordon’s three and Mike Boone’s two. Regardless of how good he looked, he appears to be the guy they trust the most right now, regardless of what Nathaniel Hackett told Gordon.

The fact that the team made Murray the workhorse over Gordon and Boone, who have been there for a couple of years now, says a lot about how the team feels about their running backs. Expect Murray to remain the early down lead back.

3. D’Onta Foreman, Carolina Panthers

In the wake of the Christian McCaffrey trade, Foreman should be the one that benefits the most. He rushed 133 times for 566 yards and three touchdowns in relief for Derrick Henry last year with the Tennessee Titans. There’s a reason the Panthers signed him this offseason to backup McCaffrey.

Even in a bad matchup this week against the Buccaneers, Foreman should see enough volume to be a sneaky DFS play. He could be a long-term hold in season-long leagues too. Just wait a week and see how they divvy out carries.
