Astros aren’t the Yankees only looming threat in Game 4

The New York Yankees have more bad luck heading their way, as mother nature could once again play a role in a postseason game.

The New York Yankees are at the brink of elimination. They managed to overcome a 1-2 deficit in the ALDS to the Cleveland Guardians, but they have stood no chance against the Houston Astros. Strikeouts and runners stranded on base have been the stories of the first three games of the ALCS, and are now 0-3 in the series

Not only do the Yankees have to worry about the Astros beating them in Game 4 on Sunday, but also the weather. Surprise, surprise, a postseason game at Yankee Stadium may be interrupted by rain.

Game 4 of ALCS at Yankee Stadium could be hit with rain

The Yankees have been hit with rain throughout their postseason. Game 2 of the ALDS against the Guardians was postponed due to rain. Game 5 had to be postponed and played during what was supposed to be the off day before Game 1 of the ALCS against the Astros.

Rain would fit the vibe of the Yankees’ doom and gloom run in the ALCS. There was zero atmosphere in The Bronx for Game 3, where fans actually exited the stadium early. In fact, Game 4 tickets on the secondary market have dropped in price by a staggering 87-percent. There is little interest in attending a game where the result is seemingly a foregone conclusion based on the lackluster play of the Yankees.

It will be interesting to see if the rain will cause Game 4 to be delayed at some point on Sunday. Perhaps what will be more interesting is if the Yankees can actually win to keep their World Series hopes alive.
