With every new college football rankings, there are winners and losers to be had, especially with the AP Top 25 Poll that comes out in earnest each Sunday afternoon.
It may not have been the most robust slate, but college football did not disappoint this weekend.
Clemson survived Syracuse at home, while Ole Miss could not avoid a loss in Death Valley to LSU. While Oregon looked strong vs. UCLA, Texas could not hang in the second half vs. Oklahoma State. All the while, TCU remains undefeated with Kansas State suffering its first loss in conference play.

College football rankings: Winners from AP Top 25 Poll, Week 9
TCU is the last undefeated Big 12 team and only one without a conference loss
With the power of the Hypnotoad, the TCU Horned Frogs continue to have our collective attention inside of the top 10. They got another big win over a Big 12 opponent in Kansas State on Saturday night. It may have only moved the Frogs up one spot in the AP Top 25, but Sonny Dykes has his team rolling. They feel like a lock to get to Arlington. From there, they just might make the playoff.
Oregon totally redeemed itself after being Dawg Food over Labor Day Weekend
As it turns out, the drubbing at the hands of Georgia in Atlanta was the anomaly. Dan Lanning’s Oregon Ducks have not skipped a beat since. They improved to 6-1 on the year by handing UCLA its first loss of the season at Autzen. The crazy part in all this is if Oregon wins out, the Ducks are probably making the playoff, as who doesn’t lose to Georgia these days? Oregon is for real, y’all!
Oklahoma State looks to be on collision course with TCU in Big 12 title bout now
After losing a heartbreaker in Fort Worth to TCU, Mike Gundy’s Oklahoma State Cowboys bounced back with a strong win at home over Texas. While the Mullet Bowl will no longer be a thing once Quinn Ewers turns pro and Texas goes to the SEC, this game was a prime example of how well the Pokes are positioned to have success in a new era of Big 12 football. They are not dead just yet…
LSU handing Ole Miss its first loss of the year has Tigers back inside the top 25
Brian Kelly’s Family is officially going bowling this holiday season, as his Bayou Bengals are now 6-2. They won the Magnolia Bowl over a previously undefeated Ole Miss team. While the LSU Tigers were on the outside looking in at a top-25 ranking after getting plowed through at home by Tennessee, they moved all the way up to No. 18 with the big Alabama game coming in two weeks.
While TCU, Oregon, Oklahoma State and LSU were all big winners, not everybody was so lucky…
