College football power rankings: Which of the 6 remaining undefeated teams is superior?

There are only six undefeated teams left in college football as we head into the Week 9 slate.

In this day and age of college football, it is so incredibly difficult to navigate a season to perfection.

With eight-or-nine competitive conference games, as well as intriguing dates outside of that, it is commendable to see any team get to 12-0 before playing in its league’s title bout. Should a team get to 13-0, that team is probably making the College Football Playoff, meaning it would have to win two more games to achieve simply majestic perfection at 15-0. Can anyone do that this year?

Here are the last remaining undefeated teams in college football, ranked by who really is the best.

TCU has beaten four ranked teams in a row, but can Frogs can run the gauntlet?

Even if it remains a long shot that the TCU Horned Frogs will be able to run the gauntlet, Sonny Dykes’ team has been a great story over in the Big 12. This is his first season on the other side of the metroplex, taking that SMU blueprint and beating the Mustangs right away with it in his first opportunity. On paper, TCU is the least talented of the six undefeated teams, but its resume rocks!

TCU clobbered Colorado and Tarleton State in the non-conference, as well as eking one out in Dallas over metropolitan area rival SMU. From there, the Frogs have won four straight conference games over teams who were ranked at the time (No. 18 Oklahoma, at No. 19 Kansas, No. 8 Oklahoma State, No. 17 Kansas State). Unfortunately, they may only get one more ranked team…

While coming out of the nine-game, round-robin Big 12 schedule is certainly commendable, the Frogs really need Oklahoma State to win out as well and meet them in Arlington. A 13-0 Big 12 champion TCU team is definitely making the playoff. Sadly, this week’s No. 7 team in the nation is not going to get the benefit of the doubt with the Selection Committee if it were to drop a game.

If TCU takes it one game at a time, they have a chance to be the Power Five’s last unbeaten team.
