4. Top Fantasy Football Pickups For Week 8 — New York Giants QB Daniel Jones

We’ll stick with the Giants here with a look at Daniel Jones, who has had a solid year for first-year head coach Brian Daboll. While Jones was mostly a game manager in the early going, the Giants asked him to make some plays against the Jaguars and he delivered.

The passing stats weren’t overwhelming for Jones, who completed 19-of-30 passes for 202 yards and a touchdown in the 23-17 win. What made Jones a compelling fantasy option was his rushing day as he carried 11 times for 107 yards and a score.

It’s no secret that Jones has some solid mobility but the Giants haven’t asked him to run much recently due to an early-season ankle injury. If that injury is a thing of the past and Jones will be scrambling more often that makes him a more playable fantasy streamer in a year where a lot of quarterbacks haven’t lived up to their preseason potential.

Jones is rostered in 40 percent of Yahoo leagues and has a good matchup against a Seattle defense that entered Week 7 having surrendered the 11th most points to opposing quarterbacks. With the Chiefs and Chargers on bye in Week 8, fantasy owners who have Patrick Mahomes or Justin Herbert should look to fire up Jones with confidence as a preferred streamer while his upcoming schedule is also favorable for teams in need of medium-term help at the position.
