Following a loss to the Bears, New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick received criticism from a former Patriots player and All-Pro.

Monday Night was downright dreadful for the New England Patriots, and Bill Belichick had a large hand in the disaster against the Bears.

As such, he is being called out. But one name, in particular, has come out and taken a shot — former Patriots cornerback Asante Samuel, who doesn’t exactly have the best reputation with his former coach.

Samuel tweeted how his former coach is looking without his former quarterback Tom Brady, a player that Samuel has gone out of his way to defend at every chance, admirably, we might add.

However, Samuel’s words weren’t appreciated by many, including Patriots fans and former teammate Tedy Bruschi, who called the comment ridiculous.

Asante Samuel took a shot at Bill Belichick following the Patriots’ loss to the Bears

No one in New England will ever forget what happened the night of Super Bowl XLII, where Asante Samuel could have intercepted one last pass that would have saved the 19-0 season and probably his relationship with Bill Belichick. Instead, it was not meant to be.

However, it’s easy to get on the Patriots now. The quarterback situation is in a conundrum, and at this point, there is no definitive answer of whether Mac Jones or Bailey Zappe will be the guy under center for the foreseeable future. If you have two quarterbacks, you have none, as the saying goes.

That said, the Patriots didn’t need Asante Samuel to tell them it’s a problem, and taking a shot at Bill Belichick doesn’t help matters either, even if Samuel is right. It will be interesting to see how things unfold in New England over the coming days and the rest of the season.
