Trades to make Tom Brady happy: Find a tackle to shore up the offensive line

Tom Brady hit an unfortunate historic mark on Thursday night: He is now the most-sacked quarterback in NFL history. Obviously, a lot of that has to do with simply the amount of games he’s played and his overall longevity, but it’s still not great!

At 65.9%, the Buccaneers have the 12th-highest sack percentage this year. You don’t want to put your 45-year-old quarterback in that kind of a position.

Left guard Luke Goedeke has a horrific 39.2 grade with Pro Football Focus this year. Oof. He’s just a rookie, and some think he’s quite a bit away from being ready to take on the pro-level strength on a weekly basis. He also didn’t play on Thursday due to injury.

The Bucs should look for more established tackles on bad teams that might be looking for an opportunity to ring chase. The bad teams may be willing to part for draft picks.

The offensive line has been a sore subject all year long, and it looks like it might be finally time to make a move. Obviously moves for an offensive tackle aren’t very sexy, but they are ever-important. Not only does it contribute to keeping Brady healthy and happy, but it will also help them provide more opportunity to the aforementioned cruddy run game the Bucs have rolled out so far this year. Getting a fresh back and a new tackle might be the one-two punch Tampa needs to recalibrate heading into the colder months to will themselves to the postseason.
