Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Nick Castellanos made the catch of his life in right field, robbing Jeremy Peña and the Astros of a World Series walkoff.

Apologies to Houston, but a World Series game shouldn’t end on two bloop singles.

Nick Castellanos is by no means an elite defender. If anything, he’s a liability at times out there. But one moment of pure greatness and change that perception.

Jose Altuve reached base thanks to a misplay from Brandon Marsh, who backed up before rushing in to catch a bloop single. It landed just in front of him. From there, Altuve stole second despite the efforts of J.T. Realmuto, who nearly threw out the Houston second baseman.

The stage was set for Jeremy Peña, and a flare off the end of the bat threatened to end Game 1 in style. With Altuve already rounding third to score the winning run, Castellanos robbed Peña and Houston of their moment — for now.

As is the case whenever Nick Castellanos makes a great play, tragedy is soon to follow. But what will that tragedy be?

MLB Twitter sadistically of course, has some ideas.

Castellanos, somehow, made the play of his life when it mattered most.

What happens next is anyone’s guess.
