Ashton ‘H2O’ Sylve scores a first round TKO (Video)
Ashton ‘H2O’ Sylve scores a first round knockout of Braulio Rodriguez while serving as the co-main event for Jake Paul vs. Anderson Silva.
Serving as the co-main event to the Jake Paul vs. Anderson Silva main event, 18-year-old Ashton ‘H2O’ Sylve (8-0) faced Braulio Rodriguez (20-5) in an eight-round special attraction. Sylve, who is from Long Beach, CA, is also signed to Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions.
Rodriguez came out aggressive in the first round as he was trying to pressure the young Sylve, who is months removed from attending his H.S. Prom. Showing some patience and pedigree, Sylve saw the pressure and was able to counter Rodriguez’s aggressive tactic with some precision punching. As Rodriguez was coming in, Sylve landed a perfect counter left hook, which rocked Rodriguez and led to the knockdown. Sylve tried to get up, but the referee appropriately called the fight, and it was the right decision as Rodriguez fell back to the floor right after.
Sylve earned a first-round knockout victory in order to get the crowd warmed up for the main event, as the undercard fights were underwhelming.
