The Seattle Seahawks continue to show they are for real, as they defeated the 6-1 New York Giant 27-13.
Out of the late slate of Week 8 games, there was only one that were between teams with winning records. If anyone told you before the season that it was between the Seattle Seahawks and New York Giants, you would question them. But, both teams have played some of the best football through the first seven weeks of the season, and looked to continue their positive momentum with a win.
On Sunday, the Seahawks picked up the 27-13 win over the Giants to improve their record to 5-3. Not only that, but they have a full game lead over the San Francisco 49ers for first place in the NFC West.
Let’s take a look at some of the top tweets following Seattle’s victory over New York.

The game was tightly contested between both teams, but when it comes to mistakes, the Giants made the most.
The Giants had two turnovers in the game, coming on fumbles by wide receiver Richie James on two punts. Perhaps what made it worse for New York is that it helped Seattle score points. The first fumble by James resulted in a 35-yard field goal by Jason Myers in the second quarter. The second fumble in the fourth quarter allowed the Seahawks to extend their lead from 20-13 to 27-13, as rookie running back Kenneth Walker III scored a 16-yard rushing touchdown.
Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith had yet another strong game, as he completed 23-of-34 passes for 212 yards and two touchdowns. The first touchdown pass arrived on a three-yard touchdown reception by D.K. Metcalf in the second quarter. Smith’s second touchdown pass took place in the fourth on a wide-open pass to Tyler Lockett, who redeemed himself after dropping a walk-in touchdown pass earlier in the game.
The Giants offense could not get anything going in the game, as they picked up just 225 yards of total offense. Quarterback Daniel Jones threw for just 176 yards while completing 17-of-31 pass attempts. Running back Saquon Barkley picked up 53 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries. It will be interesting to see if the Giants front office will make a move for a wide receiver, a position of weakness, at the NFL trade deadline on Tuesday, Nov. 1.
Seattle will look to build on their first-place lead next week when they take on the rival Arizona Cardinals. New York, meanwhile, goes on a bye next week.
