878. (4-4). Kirk Ferentz. 4. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Iowa Hawkeyes

Kirk Ferentz’s Iowa Hawkeyes may have clobbered Northwestern, but most do

Look. Just because Iowa beat the brakes off Northwestern doesn’t mean we are off the scent entirely. Most people destroy Northwestern these days, allowing a team defined by nepotism like Iowa to get to 4-4 with four games left to be played. The Hawkeyes are probably going to make a bowl game now, but Kirk Ferentz letting his son Brian run the offense cannot continue into 2023.

Although this season is not entirely a lost cause in Iowa City, the Hawkeyes are not repeating as Big Ten West champions. They have to recognize that their annual rivals have largely leveled up in the coaching department. If you stay the same, you will fall behind. Regardless, this has not been a pleasant season to be an Iowa fan. It would not be shocking if Ferentz hangs up the headset soon.

Coming out of Borderline Comatose with a win alleviated the pressure, but just imagine a loss…

Scouting Report. Boston College Eagles. Jeff Hafley. 3. player. 826. Pick Analysis. (2-6)

Jeff Hafley’s Boston College Eagles must win out to achieve bowl eligibility now

Although this may have more to do with the ACC Atlantic being very strong this year, but Jeff Hafley needs to start winning some games at Boston College. The Eagles are 2-6 overall and 1-4 in ACC play. They need to win out if they want to achieve bowl eligibility this season. While Hafley garnered a lot of praise during his first years in Chestnut Hill, what have you done for me lately?

Sure, there are other programs in the ACC worse off than B.C., but they all play in the Coastal Division. While the ACC is going to get rid of divisions very soon, that still does not change the fact that Hafley is not in his first year on the job. That gives coaches like Brent Pry at Virginia Tech and Tony Elliott at Virginia some leeway. Sadly, only Virginia’s offense is worse than B.C.’s in the ACC…

Boston College may not part ways with Hafley, but he will enter next year on the hot seat for sure.
