Najee Harris being compared to historic bust should have Steelers fans worried
Najee Harris is trending in the wrong direction, and his trajectory is on point with another draft bust that should scare Steelers fans.
Coming out of Alabama, Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris was a combination of physicality and explosiveness built into a rugged body. Early on, despite deficiencies at the offensive line position, the Steelers have gotten good production out of Harris.
Now, it appears the trend is heading in the wrong direction, and by the look of it, it’s the same trend that another Alabama running back endured before his career ultimately flamed out. If you were wondering who that was, it would be Trent Richardson. That name alone should give the shivers.
Oof, just looking at the graph gives cause to pause. Furthermore, with the talent that currently exists in Pittsburgh, specifically the O-Line, it doesn’t look like things are going to get better unless reinforcements are added.
Najee Harris is trending in the same direction that Trent Richardson went down, and that should be a cause of concern for Steelers fans
Things have not been going well in Pittsburgh this season, and Najee Harris is far from the biggest reason why. Despite their win over Tampa Bay, the Black and Gold have largely been black and blue, including the smackdown in Philadelphia recently.
Kenny Pickett’s calling out of his teammates doesn’t help, and the lack of consistency on offense is enough for any receiver, let alone Chase Claypool and George Pickens, to feel frustrated. Defensively, there are moments, but they are sporadic at best. That will not help in a division where all the others are finding ways to improve.
Harris going down the same path as Richardson should be a significant cause for concern, and it’s incumbent upon the Steelers to use whatever cap space they have to get some blockers up front to reverse the trajectory instead of letting it continue to spiral downwards.
