2. NFL Teams That Should Be On Upset Alert In Week 9 – Minnesota Vikings

One of the more surprising results in the NFL this season has been the fact that the Vikings are 6-1 and in complete command of the NFC North. Minnesota used the momentum from a Week 1 win over the Green Bay Packers to race to a hot start but they have only one win against a team currently above .500, raising questions about how good the Vikings actually are.

The fact that Minnesota also finds itself in plenty of close games also adds to those doubts. The Vikings have won their last five games by eight points or less, which can be interpreted positively as a sign this group knows how to close out games or negatively as a sign that a bounce of the football the wrong way could lead to a loss.

Week 9 sees the Vikings head on the road to take on the surging Washington Commanders, who have won three in a row to climb into the NFC Wild Card picture. The Commanders’ offense has also looked much more efficient with Taylor Heinicke under center as he has helped re-integrate Terry McLaurin into the Washington passing attack.

The Vikings are favored by 3.5 points on the road, which is a sign that this game could be much trickier than anticipated. There is also trap game potential here as the Vikings have games against the Bills and Cowboys coming up in the next two weeks, which could set the stage for an upset by the Commanders if Minnesota gets caught looking ahead.
