By Jakob Ashlin
Let’s break down 10 wide receiver sleepers to target for fantasy football Week 9.
Week 9 of the NFL season marks the bye week for the Cleveland Browns, Dallas Cowboys, Denver Broncos, New York Giants, Pittsburgh Steelers, and San Francisco 49ers. Therefore, impactful fantasy football wide receivers such as Amari Cooper, CeeDee Lamb, Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy, and Brandon Aiyuk will be unavailable. If you’re looking for a sleeper, here are 10 options. All players are widely available in ESPN leagues.
10. Fantasy football wide receiver sleepers for Week 9: Damiere Byrd, Atlanta Falcons
Rostered: 0.5 percent
In Week 7, Byrd had a 75-yard receiving touchdown.
Last week, Byrd had three receptions for 67 yards, including a 47-yard touchdown.
Byrd is worth a flier in deeper leagues this week.
9. Fantasy football wide receiver sleepers for Week 9: Jarvis Landry, New Orleans Saints
Rostered: 26.2 percent
Landry returned to practice on Thursday.
Landry has not played since Week 4, but his return to practice signifies a return could be imminent.
Michael Thomas was recently placed on the injured reserve with a toe injury, so when Landry returns to the lineup, he should play a large role. The Saints will face the Baltimore Ravens on Monday night. The Ravens’ defense allowed the third-most passing yards in the NFL.
Fantasy owners should monitor Landry’s status this weekend. If he can play, he is an appealing FLEX option in a favorable matchup.
