Locked in a pitchers duel in Game 6, the Phillies got new life in the World Series thanks to a Kyle Schwarber bomb that made fans go wild.
With the Philadelphia Phillies entering Game 6 of the World Series trailing 3-2 to the Houston Astros, they needed anything that could help them stay alive. Luckily, they have Kyle Schwarber in the lineup — and all the man does is hit absolute tanks.
In the top of the sixth inning, both Zack Wheeler and Framber Valdez were absolutely dealing and leaving the bats of both teams with nothing to hang their hats on in a 0-0 tie. But then Schwarber stepped up to the dish.
After battling with Valdez a bit, Schwarber got the fastball he was looking for and absolutely tattooed the baseball over the right field fence for a monster solo shot that gave the Phillies a 1-0 lead and put them in the driver’s seat to force a Game 7.

That moonshot was Schwarber’s sixth in his last 11 playoff games as he’s been on an absolute postseason tear with his power. As such, fans were quick to sing his praises with some terrific reactions.
Framber Valdez started Kyle Schwarber off with three straight cutters after not throwing a single cutter in the first five innings. He should have thrown him another. Because we know what Schwarber does with fastballs -- even ones that are boring at 96 mph.

Unfortunately for Philadelphia, the lead quickly evaporated in the bottom half of the inning. After putting two runners on and making a pitching change, Yordan Alvarez hit a monster blast of his own to give the Astros a 3-1 lead, which they then added onto thereafter heading into the late stages of the game.
Regardless of the outcome, though, the Phillies have enjoyed a phenomenal postseason and World Series from Schwarber and this nuke was just part of his resumé.
