A handful of teams benefit in the College Football Playoff picture with Alabama, Tennessee and Clemson all losing on the road in Week 10.

With Alabama, Tennessee and Clemson all suffering road losses in Week 10, those defeats really help a few teams in particular when it comes to the overall College Football Playoff picture.

Tennessee was the first to fall, as the Vols were no match for Georgia Between the Hedges. A few hours later, Clemson got its bell rung by Notre Dame up in South Bend, while Alabama lost a heartbreaker in overtime to LSU in Death Valley. Although one-loss Clemson and Tennessee can still make the playoff, it may not be in the cards anymore for two-loss Alabama. They are out of it.

With that in mind, here are three teams who were helped the most by this trio falling in Week 10.

College Football Playoff: Who benefited the most from the three, top-six losses?

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. LSU Tigers. 817. SEC. (7-2). 3. player

LSU has an opportunity to be the first two-loss team to make the four-team field

Yes, there are a lot of teams we can say benefit from those three top-six squads all going down, even the ones who lost, to be totally honest. However, all three of these defeats may have opened up a pathway for LSU being the first two-loss team to ever make the College Football Playoff. The Tigers will get to Atlanta should they win out, where they could play for a potential playoff berth.

Getting the head-to-head tiebreaker over Alabama in the SEC West is huge, as the Tigers also have it over one-loss Ole Miss. While the rough Tennessee loss at home looks worse after the Vols got pushed around by Georgia, Florida State could crack the top 25 this week after blowing out ACC rival Miami to get to 6-3. The SEC champion is probably getting in, even if that team is LSU…

It is a slim possibility, as LSU needs to win out and Georgia needs to win out for certainty. Having Tennessee win out, as well as Alabama and Ole Miss only having four losses between them would be huge, too. Basically, if the Tigers run the table and upset presumably Georgia in Atlanta, there is a real case to be had for them to be the first two-loss team to get in as the 2022 SEC Champions.

Of course, even in that scenario, it is not entirely up to them, as Tigers will need plenty of help, too.
