Watch Justin Fields 61-yard touchdown run from all angles (Video)
By Josh Hill
Justin Fields torched the Miami Dolphins defense for a 61-yard touchdown run that looks gorgeous from every angle it was captured.
It took a season and a half, but it appears Justin Fields is finally starting to unlock his potential.
Now that Fields has an actual coaching staff, things have started to come together for the second-year quarterback who struggled through his rookie season. Much of the blame was placed on Matt Nagy, but after he and the rest of his staff was fired after last season — including general manager Ryan Pace being dismissed — the pressure was on Fields to prove that line of thinking correct.
It’s only Week 9, but Fields is starting to payoff the bet Chicago made on him this offseason.
Fields burned the Miami Dolphins defense on a 61-yard touchdown run that displayed everything that had Bears fans falling in love with him two years ago on NFL Draft night.
At first it looks like Fields is going to panic and pass out of a pressure situation, but he instead reels the ball back in and then reels off a touchdown run that Bears fans couldn’t have imagined seeing with any of the quarterbacks they’ve been forced to watch over the last handful of decades.
Just watch:
Holy cow, that’s beautiful.
A few weeks ago Fields had a similar run against the Minnesota Vikings taken off the board after a holding penalty. There as no flag this time, and Fields exerted his dominance in ways that should put the rest of the NFC North on notice.
That’s not an overstatement, and neither is this: Justin Fields was the best NFC North quarterback in Week 9.
As Fields was ripping off his 61-yard scorcher, Aaron Rodgers was throwing three interceptions in a game where Jared Goff looked very tame, and Kirk Cousins was struggling against the Washington Commanders defense.
Meanwhile, Fields was in a shootout with one of the best offenses in football and keeping pace almost all by himself.
